Vshare - what is it? How does it get installed without App Store?

someone has demonstrated to me that they were able to install an app called vshare without an AppleID. I can see it's installed, and I can see that it isn't listed in their App Store purchases. The device isn't jail broken, so how does this work, and how can I stop it?
