iphone 6s camera lag

I’m experiencing an issue with my iPhone 6s where the camera app is sometimes very laggy when starting up. Most of the time things are fine – I open the camera app and instantly see images from the rear camera. However, on occasion I will get either the last photo taken showing or (more often) see really slow updates (like a frame a second) from the camera for 5-6 seconds before it becomes usable. I haven’t seen anything online about others experiencing this issue, so it would be good to know if this is an isolated hardware issue or something others are seeing (and likely to be fixed by a future software update). FWIW I have done a complete restore on the phone via iTunes without the issue being solved.

Yeah!! I think that we (some users) deserve it!

Camera and Photos

  • Introduces Portrait Camera for iPhone 7 Plus that creates a depth effect that keeps your subject sharp while creating a beautifully blurred background (beta)
  • People names in the Photos app are saved in iCloud backups
  • Improved the display of wide color gamut photos in the grid views of the Photos app
  • Fixes an issue where opening the Camera app would show a blurred or flashing screen for some users
  • Fixes an issue that caused Photos to quit for some users when turning on iCloud Photo Library

Sorry to say that but i have 6s with IOS 10.1 (non beta) and lag appeared today for me also. (3-4 seconds blurred screen, until live camera images showed on the screen).

Have been using 10.1 beta 4 for 5-6 days and no lag, then i deleted the beta user profile and switched to official 10.1 and in 2 days of use ...lag is present again.

So far, my experience with beta 4 was the best....no lag at all till i put 10.1 official.

Really disappointed, knowing that apple said this issue was fixed in the 10.1 release !!!

I Had this f****ng lag on my 6s. I Was very nervous because it is really annoying when i tried to open camera app threw the lock screen or anyway else I saw blurred screen!!!

After all that... I bought a brand new 7 plus... and I really hoped that those lag problems was gone, but to my disappointment they were not.

I Look threw this thread and on page # 19-20 everybody was talking about that iOS 10.1 solved the awful camera lag. It pleased me.

Yesterday I updated to iOS 10.1....

Lag is still here.

i cant believe some of you still have this issue even after 10.1 ! how come? apple acknowledged the issue, solved it and stated that ios 10.1

Fixes an issue where opening the Camera app would show a blurred or flashing screen for some users.

have you all updated your phones thru itunes? i dont recommend updating OTA. it always caused me troubles, the best is the itunes. ios 10.1 update requires around 2,5 GB on itunes , otherwise few hundred mb.

whats your feedback on that?

mine has been having this lag over a year and now after 10.1 for the first time, no lag at all. ( even from the notorious lockscreen )

there must be something wrong.

I made the update from 10.1 beta 4 to 10.1 official, through OTA it was 1.8 GB.

i also did the update from 10.1 beta 3 where i still had the lag (once), to beta 4, (no lag at all within aprox. 1 week of usage of beta 4), through OTA and it was 25 MB.

The issue comes with official 10.1 i suppose, because from 2 days of usage the lag appeared again but just once since the day i made the update to official 10.1

It should NOT be a difference between which method of upgrade you are doing, OTA or itunes. If apple says the issues was fixed and it's not, this means this was not properly tested, otherwise they should say something like "issue was fixed but only if you update through itunes" 🙂 🙂
