iphone 6s camera lag

I’m experiencing an issue with my iPhone 6s where the camera app is sometimes very laggy when starting up. Most of the time things are fine – I open the camera app and instantly see images from the rear camera. However, on occasion I will get either the last photo taken showing or (more often) see really slow updates (like a frame a second) from the camera for 5-6 seconds before it becomes usable. I haven’t seen anything online about others experiencing this issue, so it would be good to know if this is an isolated hardware issue or something others are seeing (and likely to be fixed by a future software update). FWIW I have done a complete restore on the phone via iTunes without the issue being solved.

I exchanged my device under warranty . I showed store guys youtube video link , while apple store guys told me its new device as replacement, I doubt ,as the home button is not as hard as the one I had but camera works properly now

I hardly use home key and use on screen assistance most of the time, even my old iphone 4 home key is rock solid after 4 years of use


Guys replace your mobile under warranty before its too late. I will update this thread if I see camera issue on my replaced handset

True, i saw the issue getting repeated once today. This is the two second one. 😟


I have really lost faith in Apple quality. The price we pay for these products is really insane. As I mentioned in my previous post, replaced phone home key has a click sound . I followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUMrLZJqP6g to get rid of this .


I did mistake in accepting refurbished model . I should have asked apple to repair my original iphone as I know about its history. ( I dont know if this can be done)


Now i really feel guilty to even write about this issue. Cannot waste more time and will have to live with this .

Paid $810 to end up using a refurbished device. I should have brought used / refurbished iphone 6 from ebay for $400 and could have saved half of the $

Check my history with apple products :

1. ipod touch -2010 ( brought in South Korea -still working , not using it much now a days )

2. iphone 4 - 2011 ( brought in India - still working with no issues ,I used for 3 years before giving it to my brother . He uses as his primary phone . phone is slow due to ios 7 but usable )

3. ipad 2 - 2011 ( brought in India as a gift to my parents - still working and used by them)

4. Iphone 5 -2013 ( brought in US and sold it within 7 months of use - pathetic battery life )

5. macbook pro retina 13 -2014 ( brought in US , replaced display during warranty in India due to some color issue . Good part is macbooks and ipad without sim slot have international warranty included )

6. ipad air LTE -2015 ( brought in US till now no issues )

7. iphone 6S - 2015 ( paid full price for model A1633 unlocked one and finally ended up with refurbished unit )


We can see that the latest products released by Apple does not seem to keep the quality standards it used to come with originally


Just helping customers by providing an exchange channel through apple store wont help us to increase faith in your products. We pay for quality and no one will ever want to end up using refurbished unit and go through this hassle


Do you know if this camera issue is just with model A1633 ?

Hey you all,


Living in Belgium and experiencing the same problems since device was new with my A1688 64 gb iPhone. Tried lots of things such as not granting certain apps access to camera and photo roll ( facebook, pages, whatsapp) and switching off location for camera. Tried a restore as new phone also.

Nothing worked from the above .


However !! Was on snow holiday in France last week and didn't have this problem and i used my camera a lot :-)


I switched off mobile data during whole week ( expensive roaming costs ) and had only very limited access to wifi. Bluetooth and car connection was not used either this week.


If some of you could help me using the above information, maybe we come to a solution or at first a real cause of this problem.

I live in korea using iPhone 6s 128G. I have the same issue as you mentioned. I had some sync problems between iCloud and photo so I disabled the sync function with icloud for couple of week, I still see the lag problem on camera app starting. I think this is related with the software problem and I hope this could fixed in the future update. One of my colleague in my office has the same issue.

Hi All, I have been contacting Apple for this case since Oct 2015. millions of emails and phone calls up to iOS 9.3 beta (13e5231a), still not get it fixed, their are still replying me " They cant do anything, need us to wait for the engineers' act" but no one knows if engineers willing fix it or not, no ones can control, cos there is no monitoring system or service pledge, I requested to direct contact to engineer, they said no, I requested to a deadline from engineer, they said no,

Apple. 我吊你老母. such a big company, but no guts to face the music,
