It worked well with Yosemite. It stopped working when I installed El Capitan
I was unable to reinstall the software on El Capitan. LightScribe is no longer
supported by HP. The newest software available is for 2011. I suspect there
will be other programs which function in OS X 10.10 but which are useless
in OS X 10.11. How can I go bach to OS X 10.10 until Apple corrects this problem ?
Will Apple fix this problem ??
It is up to the software developer to update their software to work in the latest OS. Apple is highly unlikely to patch HP software.

HP stopped to support lightscibe, no one else supports lightscribe, lightscribe is dead on Mac OS ...

Unfortunately you are absolutely correct.
LightScribe is dead with El Capitan.

Hello Lightscribe users,
just thought I would share the resolution to the Lightscribe driver issue with El Capitan... You can have your Lightscribe drive once again!
I too was very sad to loose my Lightscribe drive as I still love using it. After some serious looking and persistence, I found a solution that I can say works great and allowed me once again to use my Lightscribe drive.
This solution was discovered by smarter folks than I and I for one, am very grateful.
The problem is the system integrity protection in El Capitan.
My thanks go to, Stefan Ilchenko and Jo Vandeweghe who came up with this process as well as Steve Nelson who took over all things Lightscribe and shared this process when HP abandoned us all.
Here is how I got mine to work once again:
1. Go to the new home of everything Lightscribe: https://lightscribesoftware.org
2. Then click on Free Software / Free Mac Software or click here: https://lightscribesoftware.org/freesoftware/mac/
While on this page, go ahead and grab the Lightscribe System Software and extract the .tar on your desktop.
3. Scroll down on this page until you see: Install System Software on El Capitan or click here: https://lightscribesoftware.org/how-to-install-system-software-on-el-capitan/
4. You will also need a program called: Pacifist, Pacifist 3.5.9 which at this time is the newest version.
You can find Pacifist 3.5.9 here: https://www.charlessoft.com
You will need to read the instructions which are very easy to follow, reboot and now your Lightscribe drive is alive once more!
I posted this to offer a solution to a problem many of us had... Not to claim to be an expert or that I have covered every possible issue or problem that may arise from this solution. It works for me and I have my favorite drive back, so I thought I would share.
I have the same problem and I already saw some things how to fix it but I'm too stupid for it my english is not good maybe someone can translate it in german HAHAHA
