Turn off shared calendar notification IOS9

My 16 yr old son shared with me his school google calendar, which is a good thing!

Trouble is in Calendar IOS9 on my iPad I can't seem to turn off notification alerts from this calendar. I've looked at the notification centre and set shared calendar changes to "no alert". He has a lot of alerts I don't need to see! Any ideas out there?
