How to edit a live photo

The app "Live Photos Plus" lets you grab still photos from before or after the still image associated with your live photo. So you can choose any of the moments in the live photo, not just the one frame they give you as a still. Is that what you're looking for?

That's the case to which I was referring. I don't see any reviews of this app, however. I've begun using another app for the GIF's called "ImgPlay". It works OK ... but, so far, I can't get my iPhone to PLAY those GIFs! Also, Apple's made a faux pas on their Live Photos as nothing will allow you to DOWNLOAD those photos and then put into a folder. You can ONLY do that when you create a folder INTERNAL to your Photo's app and sort into those photo's ... so essentially ... you've got those photos TWO places (I know it doesn't take more space) ... but a waste of energy! OH ... and when you DO download to your computer (Mac in my case), it comes through as a still photo and a video recognized by Quicktime. I have Quicktime Pro so can parse out any pictures I want ... but you can only re-import into your computer as a still and video ... not a clever as a LIVE PHOTO! :-(

Correction: "Splitter: For Live Photos" is the new name

I am on a Macbook Air. I can't find either a "Live Photos Plus" or a "Splitter for Live Photos" in the App store. Is this something that can only be done on the Phone and NOT the computer? Thanks!

You can do a screenshot if you have enough dexterity - while holding down on the live photo, execute the screenshot feature (home button + lock button) you can then crop the photo as needed.

This sounds like just what I was looking for, but your question was never answered. I have an iMac. Did you ever find out if it could be downloaded to a computer?

Yes, 'Motion Stills' from Google does this!
