Does anyone know how to get airdrop working on OS X El Capitan, I used to have the issue intermittently on Yosemite but since upgrading I haven't been able to transfer files via Airdrop to my iPhone 5 or 6S.
When I select Airdrop in a Finder window my phone just doesn't appear!!!
Can anyone help?
How this annoying — each Apple software release brings sooo many creepy bugs, that I'm doubtful if they have QA in their production pipeline at all!
Starting from Yosemite with each update I spend HOURS browsing through forums trying to find solution to countless bugs.
Because of this I didn't want to update to El Capitan at all! I really think about all Apple updates as a risky thing — you don't know what problems you get after that!
But the need for some apps functionality forced me to update just last week. And let alone a bunch of new little annoying bugs with Finder, WiFi and printers, now I have this nice thing with Airdrop not working at all!!!! I used to use it a lot to drop files between Mac and iPhone. Now I can't! Thank you!

I had the same problem with MBP and iPhone 6. After i deleted the unarchiver and restart the MBP it works perfectly. Thank you 🙂🙂
Whatever 'unarchiver' and 'MBP' mean.... or are. And wherever it is that they might be: on the iPhone? on the iMac? on both? Yes, yes, I can ask Mr Google, but it would be really nice to leave less cryptic posts, alper.
Agniss usually MBP is abreviation of "Macbook pro" and Unarchiver is an Mac utility used to decompress archives that Os X doesn't support natively.
I've been having same problem seeing my Macbook Pro 15" 2013 (El Capitan) from my iPhone5 (iOS 9.3.2) recently. By chance, I turned off my recently purchased Trackpad2. And lo and behold, my Mac appears in my iPhone AirDrop chooser. I turned the Trackpad2 back on and the Mac disappears from my iPhone's AirDrop chooser (within Photos). Hmmm... In my case, seems that the new Trackpad2's BlueTooth somehow interferes with iPhone's ability to see my Mac. I'll continue to turn off my Trackpad2 every time I want to AirDrop between my iPhone and Mac. Anyone else seeing this behavior?
I'm using a wired mouse and keyboard, I still have the issue so this thing with airdrop is like a roulette.
