iPod Classic will not respond to any button pressing.

Screen cycles between showing Apple Support website and a greyed out Please wait Very low battery. Have had it on charge for several hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Time for some unconventional action then.
Try these things, in the following order:
After an extend charge the low battery warning has gone a way. Now it will not respond to any buttons being pressed. It is greyed out with the Apple logo and then cycles with the screen fully lit and the url for the Apple Support website with an iPod with a triangle and an !.
If you have tried a Reset, as mentioned above, and that hasn't worked, then connect it to your computer and see if your iTunes can see it. If it can, then use iTunes to Restore the iPod. Restore is a separate procedure to a Reset.
Otherwise, as I mentioned previously, perhaps the iPod has a hardware failure, in which case you may need to see if you can get it repaired or simply buy a replacement.
