how do I allow mixed active content?

I'm getting this error message when trying to access a login form that's in an iframe that is called over HTTP from a page that is loaded over HTTPS:

[blocked] The page at https:// (url snipped) was not allowed to display insecure content from http:// (url snipped)

This appears to be because the newest version of Safari now blocks mixed content.

Is there any way to configure Safari so that it allows the display of mixed content?

Eric, Unfortunately, those excellent references don't help. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a preference setting that allows me to override the new default setting in Safari in El Capitan that blocks http content over an https connection. Chrome has the same default behavior -- it blocks this content, too. But Chrome provides an interface that allows me to override the setting. User uploaded file
