El Capitan – Sennheiser USB Headset issue

i can confirm that Logitech H390 works.

I got to say that i much prefer the sound of the Sennheiser PC8 though, BUT Sennheiser currently does NOT work. I am keeping it and will try it after the next update

We are heavy users of Sennheiser headphones - we have ordered 25 later last year and now got this issue with el capitan. Not sure if it is hardware issue as it worked on the same hardware with older OS X versions. Currently trying to get in touch with Sennheiser but does not work.

I use an older Sennheiser PC141 headset. Same issues as everyone else when I tried to use it with Skype after upgrading to El Capitan. I was searching other forums for a solution and I found this worked for me although it was for a different manufacturer:

Open Applications>Utilities>Audio MIDI Setup. Click on your Mic in the list and change the "Format:" to 48000.0 Hz or to 44100.0 Hz depending on how it's set already.

(I apologize to the original poster that came up with this solution for not crediting properly. I looked at so many websites that day I don't remember which one I found this on.)
