iMessages are not showing the delivered status but the recipient is receiving the messages?

Hi,

I don't have Send Read Receipts set on my Mac or my iPhone.

However if I iMessages my iPhone Number from the Apple ID on the Mac I get the Delivered response.

The sync seems to play a part in this as it swaps back an forth between the IDs.

The "Test 2" was sent from the iPhone (number) but the sync versions shows the number later (it is literally moments)

The iPhone also go a "Delivered" response and this is on two IDs that are not set to send to Read responses.

I had thought it was dependent on the device you were looking at versus the ID the iMessages was sent from, but the above pick shows the sync arriving before the actual iMessages from the iPhone number and that sync version getting the delivered response even though it should only be the iPhone in my opinion.

What I do not see is any sub-messages that actually says Read... which is what it says it is supposed to do.

You get the Ellipses any time anyone types or starts to type a response.

Same here. Works for some imessage users and not others. I see the little bubbles when they are responding. Other wierd thing is when i close i message and go back in, for those users, the responses are all green and say "sent as text message"... .which it didn't originally, hense the "responding bubbles"....

I have this problem too! The iMessage 'delivery' icon doesn't show up but the recipient claims to have received the message. It is happening with my main contacts.

Also on iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2, iOS 9.0.2

When the recipient checks send read receipts in their Messages : iMessage Account : Settings panel, then you will receive notification when they have read your message. Without this setting, you get the pulsing dots after your message is sent.

Same! I just posted a similar question. Hopefully apple figures it out because it's really annoying.
