I do not have a yosimite time machine backup. I had to do a disk repair on that one. I thought I created an Image but not sure how to find that. I do lots of video work so I never used time machine really, now I see how I should have made time machine active from time to time. Still I need to get back to Yosemite. With all the issue I see with El Capitan why are they still pushing it, and why don't they just make a fix to reinstall Yosemite so folks can get back to work. Thanks for your help. from now on I will use time machine.

it would be nice to be able to go command R and then have a choice to reinstall what ever OS X you want but its set to only reinstall El Capitan

when restoring from one computer to another computer (i.e not the same computer) its possible to introduce something that might cause instability. Keep an eye on your systems behavior when you do this. In the interim much of the Line6 hardware gets updated but some of the software is interchangeable, so you may want to contact them and see if they have 10.11 tested software coming out that is compatible with your rig.

I just needed to get back to Yosemite, all the audio programs I am bringing from a time machine back up from my old set up. Pro tools said it could not move because I don't have permission so I will just re install fro my pro tools account and that should be fine, just went to Monkey and reinstalled the drivers for line 6 so that should be fine, then I will check on reason 8. The nice thing about the cloud is that all the companies have my ownership info and once I log in my stuff is there so I don't have to keep track of it or store the disks. So far Yosemite seems to be ok but I won't know for sure to I dig in. Thanks

I am still in the process of getting things back in order, I had to find the previous plug ins for pro tools in finder and drag them to my new folder, had to re install Monkey to get the UX2 working and now I have pro tools running again with my pod farm 2 effects. Next step is to fire up reason and find the plug ins, I did not see reason on the plug in list. So this might be an issue. But I am happy to have yosemite back and running. thanks
