Magnetic cover and iOS 9 ?

Is it just me or has the magnetic cover of my iPad 2 stopped putting the screen to sleep after installing iOS 9 ?

Before, closing the magnetic cover would put the screen to sleep.

Since upgrading to iOS 9, the screen does not turn off, and the iPad becomes very warm overnight.
