My iphone 5c takes 6 to 8 hrs to charge when only turned OFF, but when it switches ON it charges faster and stays ON for a day. my cable is fine, port cleaned. Because my ipad mini charges fine with same cable, and I replaced the battery about an year ago. Please help !!

Are you charging on a computer USB port or on a wall outlet? BTW, it's not necessary to turn your phone off, you can just leave it on at all times.

Sorry if my question mislead, but the problem is I didnt switch off my phone intentionally. Let me tell you simply
1. Two days ago my phone's battery drained to 5%, so I plugged it to the charger (1hr), but it didnt charge and it went off. And it charged for 8 hrs to power.
2. When the phone switched ON after 8 hrs it charged as usual, reached 100% in 1+ hr . Then I used it as usual for a day (12hrs back up)
3. .......And on the same day when battery was draining to 8% I connected it to the charger, No charging > Switched OFF >Charged OFFLINE for 10+ hrs> came back ON and.... (REPEAT the 1st point).
And today Its taking above 12hrs and didnt powered yet,
I hope you understand my problem. (Srry for my english, im not that fluent)

You replaced the battery yourself or you had Apple do it (or an authorized repair center)?
I replaced in an authorized repair center, but it was almost a year and a half...
Is it related to the OS update pending and other apps update ?
Cos some say of the cable is fine and battery is fine then it should be an issue with software related. I did "Reset All Settings" twice but no change in the situation.
If you still have things downloading, it could be related to that. You might try restoring your iOS and see if it improves things.
You mean complete all the remaining updates.. and the iOS updated version too, Right?

Hi AmishCake...I had to wait for the phone to power up and its been 2 days. I updated the latest version of IOS(9.0.2) and updated all the apps which were pending... and right now my battery percentage is 40% and the last time it took almost a day and a half time to POWER ON after switched OFF. And now when i connected the charger at 40% it seems the phone is not charging. do u think that battery might be the problem ??

It might be the charging port or it might be something else. I cannot say, being many miles away from you. Your best bet would be to take it back to the service center and have them run a diagnostic test on the device. Best of luck to you.
Hi @AmishCake, Thanks for helping me out with your suggestions. Actually the problem was solved once I updated the IOS and the other apps update which were pending + "reset all settings" worked and the phone started to charge fine. But whenever an APP is not updated the problem seems to exist. Is there a specific reason to this glitch? But as of now my phone seems fine until I do every single update (yes even 1 pending update does the harm). some say when a new version iphone releases this problem persists often. Let me know if u got any idea about this maam.

No, I must say that I have not heard of this issue before your posts. It's kind of unusual to say the least. But good job figuring it out!
