trouble with multitouch sensitivity in el capitan

I use a 15" macbook pro from mid 2010 for most of my work, and I've been having trouble with the trackpad. Normally I'll use two fingers to do a drag motion with the trackpad, but now in el capitan, it seems a bit touchy. It is almost like it doesn't register my multitouch. I've already cleaned it and cut my nails, but to no avail. Has anyone else noticed this?
