Adobe bridge won't get photos from camera

Since I loaded the El Capital OS it seems to have stopped my Adobe Bridge CS4 from getting photos from my camera, which is a Nikon D3000. The Apple photo programme pops up unasked and seems to grab the images before the Adobe Bridge programme can get to them.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11), Camera is Nikon D3000
