How to connect my windows phone to a macbook pro when the windows phone app is no longer available?? Help please

Recently a bought Lumia 640xl but have problem with connecting it with my macbook pro. I had the windows phone app which did not work so i tried to reinstall it but it`s no longer available in the app store. Is there any other program to connect those two devices?? Do you know any other way how to work with content on my phone through my mac??

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.1.x), + windows phone 8.1

That's a Windows phone compatible with the Windows OS; won't work with Mac OS X.

there used to be a windows phone app for mac but is not longer available. I used to sync with itunes, but I have to reset my mac and now I cannot find the app. the links with the app drives me to the store but it says the app is not available on the store. There is no other way to connect it?
