El Capitan: Mail Signature problem

Used to work, now it doesn't. Looks fine in preferences. When I create a new mail, no signature. Also if I click the signature dropdown, no option to select one.

From the Mail menu bar, select

Mail Preferences... Signatures

The preferences window now has three panes. On the left, the signatures are grouped by mail account, plus an All Signatures group at the top. Select that group.

The middle pane now shows the names you gave to all the signatures you've defined. When you select one, the right pane shows a preview of the signature.

In the middle pane, select all the signatures you want to use in a particular account. You can make multiple selections by holding down the shift or command key while clicking. Drag and drop the selection onto the account name in the left pane.

If you want one particular signature to be automatically added to all messages sent from an account, select the account, and then select from the Choose Signature menu at the bottom of the window.

The discussion on how to fix the signature problem have confused me. I fixed the problem when I discovered the All Signature block does not show in the Signatures box at the right side of the new email. I had 5 email accounts and accidentally discovered i could scroll down. "I had an Icloud account". When I put my signature in the Icloud mail account all was fixed.

I've tried creating new ones but that hasn't helped. At on point I could select from the drop down after I created an email but I've lost the ability to do that. I was having problems earlier with sending emails and I ended about messing around with my settings until I got it to work again. Along the way I had to swap from IMAP back to POP. - I suspect that somewhere along the line something happened that impacted on the signature problem to make it worse.(of course everything worked before the upgrade).

Thanks for your reply.

1. Go to Preferences > Accounts > Account Information

2. Look for "Alias:"

3. Click the dropdown & remove any other email id except your primary e-mail id

4. Do the same for all email ids that you have added to Mail application

5. Save & Close

6. Quit Mail app & restart

With this done, I was able to add unique signatures to each of my mail ids.

Unfortunately that didn't work. All my alias' have only one address except for my iCloud account. Anytime I tried to delete one, it locks up. So I have to force quit. As far as the account that will not view signatures, it's my personalized email from a google account. My regular gmail account shows the signatures, just not the personal domain email account.
