well after having no icloud backup since 27 Dec last year i had tried everything, other than call apple(even threw away my 9.02 jb ),

cut a long long story short i eventually had the notion too try the 'icloud control panel tool' for windows, deleted the backup of many many, dare i say 'every' error from not being backed up since Dec 27 every week notification nothing turn on or off constant error messages at every turn, immediately went into my 5s and hit backup now manual backup, it was saying it had an hour to go but then stopped with the failed to complete error, but a step forward at least, thought id share that in-case it helps anyone who is affected by this nightmare maybe find the "actual" fix

/peace

PS. its at 50 mins again and trying at-least, which is better than every error at every step!!

oh and its at 26 mins now tho it used to take mere minutes

Heyy..

I am using iphone 5c .. and software is updated to iOS 9.3.2

I have got same problem, I tried all the methods but nothing happened.

I tried to take backup on icloud but after like an hour it says 'the backup was not completed'

I am not really concerned about device backup but Whatsapp.. so I tried to take whatsapp backup but it just gets stuck on 2.3 mb n never moves from there, I tried many times but all in vain.. I turned wifi off and turned mobile data on n those mbs started moving n finally backup happened but It took my lots of mobile data's mbs.

I don't get it.. I tried to contact apple but it always says 'try after few minutes'

Using the advise above , going to Manage storage, it states iCloud storage details are currently unavailable. Try again later. Does anyone out there know how to fix?????

To CL1958 - OMG today is October 17, 2015 and I just noticed your response to my suggestion. I do not get on here very often. I am so happy that my suggestion worked for you. Thank YOU, you have made my whole day! 🙂 😉 I hope you are doing well. I could not reply at first because it would not let me and I still do not understand how the doo-dads on the Community pages work, so I had to sort of re-open my original post. The post is below:

This is my very first Reply to any problems in the Apple Support Community, so I am sorry if I am wrong or if it does not work. I had the same problem when trying to backup my iPad. I read somewhere on another support site that turning off Background App Refresh worked for one of the people posting there. So I tried it and it worked. I don't remember where I saw Background App Refresh on my iPad. But on my iPhone 5s, if I go to the following, it is showing here: Settings, General, Background App Refresh. I sincerely hope that this works for you, and I apologize if anyone else has already suggested it, or if the problem has already been resolved.
