iPhone 6s heating up with normal use

I have an i phone 6 plus and have rapid battery draining and overheating problems even in normal use, around the time of the last IOS 10.2 update. I am surprised there is no recall. The battery used to last the day and barely lasts for an hour now. The heating is bad enough that i cant hold the phone to my ear. Tried going to the apple store and they could not take walkins because of the number of people having issues that day. Have asked me to schedule an appointment and go back.

I have the same problem with my 6s, just replying to this it is getting very hot.

To help with your situation, with all the apps you have downloaded, double click on the home button and swipe up on all the open apps. If you don't do this, they are still running in the background and are constantly using your processor to stay open. Force closing all your apps makes it to were you're not over working your phone when you're not using apps.

The problem is still there

I purchased 6s in the last December and from few days back my iPhone is heating up while texting using hike music you tube

My phone is running on the latest iOS but problem is still there

I restarting it couple of times but can't help

You should go look for my thread on this same issue...But mine actually gets too hot to handle. I don't use a case on mine either. Apple Support was of no help. They claim it's a "Software" issue and told me just to back up my phone, wipe it, then start fresh like it's a "New Set up" then hook it up to itunes to get the photos, contact and other data back on there.

I'm running the newest version of iOS so the update didn't make a difference for me. I too am running off the Samsung A9 chip.

At this point, I'm going to take it back to apple and have them swap it out. I hope to get the other A9 chip on the swap out because word on the street is that those phones don't have the heat issues.

Operating environment is fine but still its getting heated up.

I read the link you have provided. It says that the screen might shut down sometimes to cool itself down. I have an iPhone 6s and it has started to get heated up very often lately. Sometimes even after pressing the lock button, the phone does not unlock. I have a 128gb model and have downloaded many apps on it. Does this have anything to do with the overheating.

Also, is there something I can do on my part to cool it (or prevent the heating)
