Keynote 6.6 Jpeg export incorrect resolution

I've got the same problem, please fix ASAP

I spent a few hours on the phone will apple today. I walked their tech people through the problem and they are working to create a fix. There is a work-around though!!! Instead of exporting the slides as images, export as PDF. Then open the pdf in preview and from there export as an image file. So basically its two-steps instead of one. Kind of annoying, but at least it gets the job done!

I'm having the same problem exporting JPEGS. I need to get 1920x1080 of entire slideshows and everything is coming out as 1024x768.

Thanks for the workaround using PDFs, Soccerdj11! However, I have lots of images to export and there doesn't appear to be a batch export of image files from Preview. Is there another workaround for this? Hah, because I have tons of images from the slides shows and would rather not have to do it image by image.

Apple - Please fix Keynote 6.6! I have a Monday deadline!!!

I am glad I am not alone in this. This was a huge surprise for a presentation I had due this morning. I would rather have my old Keynote back at this point. I use this export at least three times a week. I need this taken care of or a way to downgrade keynote.

Same. It worked perfectly well before the latest update.

Exporting as PDF first, then saving as JPEG from there works but be mindful that the way Keynote exports PDF's is weird. If you're going to share them with anyone not using a Mac there's a high chance some images will have outline boxes around them. It's really annoying. It happened so much that the way I used to create a PDF is export as images, then drag and drop into a new empty Keynote and save as PDF from there. Roundabout but the only way I could ensure consistent quality. Unfortunately that turns all text into images and increases size, but at least it looks professional

We are having the exact same problem. I have reported the problem through "Provide Keynote Feedback" in the "Keynote" menu. I categorized it as a bug. I suggest anyone else running into this problem also provide the feedback. The more it gets reported, the more likely it will get prioritized over other bug fixes.

In the meantime, we did find a temporary work-around. Depending on how you are trying to use the images, this may work. Instead of exporting as JPEG, export as PNG. You will still have the 16:9 image embedded in a 4:3 picture with bars above and below, but those bars will be transparent instead of white. In our case, we use the images in ProPresenter, and we have it scale the images to fit the 16:9 screen. ProPresenter does the right thing and scale the non-transparent portion of the image to the full screen. It won't be at the resolution we want, but it won't be a smaller image with a lot of white space above and below our slides. This may or may not work with other receiving software.

For those wanting to export 16:9 images from Keynote that have not updated to version 6.6, I would suggest holding off for the time being.

Having this same problem in Keynote 6.6. Very aggravating. An alternative work-a-round to exporting as pdf is as follows:

1. Make sure you are in Navigator mode (View --> Navigator)

2. Select the slide you want to export and do a Command + C.

3. Open Preview and select "New from Clipboard".

4. Export from Preview into file type of choice.

If you have Microsoft Powerpoint on your mac, you can have the "least extra step" workaround for this problem. Once you make your Keynote presentation, export it to a powerpoint presentation. Then save the powerpoint presentation as images. It will save it in the correct format. It is still "one extra" step to the process, but it seems to be the quickest workaround that I have found so far to export the whole presentation into images. I really hope Apple fixes this problem. This only works if you have powerpoint on your mac.

Thank you for the work around suggestion...however, is it possible to export all of the slides/pages in Preview to images at once? I'm only seeing how to do that one at a time?

Yes! Thank you! I was on the phone with Apple for awhile and finally submitted feedback on their website. Thank you for helping me find a work around! This has GOT to be fixed SOON.

Same problem here. It's been a painful situation for me, so I hope Apple fixes this fast. Here is an Automator task I created to easily break up a multi-page PDF into single images. Unfortunately I can't specify which page range I want to target (eg Slides 89-104). There's several ways to do this Automator workflow but this is mine for whatever it's worth…

Note: I did find that the correct resolution to convert a Keynote generated PDF to an image is 72dpi. This will make a 1920x1080 slide convert to a 1920x1080 image file

Please fix this Apple! I am totally screwed because of this. Been working on a 88 presentation for our university president. I have to export to JPEGS ... come on Apple. Let's make this work!

Another workaround if you PowerPoint is to export to PowerPoint and then to images from there.
