Why don't bit torrent work with El Capitan?

I made the mistake to install El Capitan and then realised that BitTorrent does not work.

The application seems to be open but it does not open nor downloads.

Very disappointed.

Are we going to have any update/solution for this?

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Apple does not make a torrent client and it's possible the torrent you link to has been pulled for legal reasons. Apple is not going to fix a tool that is widely used to obtain software, or video or audio files that have questionable legal ramifications, especially when Apple sells there own software, video and audio from the App Store for iOS and OS X and does so legally.

So no I doubt it, no fix for this, not from Apple, not ever.

You already have gotten the answer three times. The developer of the torrent software has had months, just like every other developer, to test their software with beta and developer builds of El Capitan before its release so they could ensure their software would work with it when released. That they didn't is neither Apple's fault, or their problem to fix.

There is no point guys to be rude or offensive in the forum.

My reply was to Kilted Tim when he asked me if I have contacted the developers of the application and I replied that I am waiting for an answer.

however I don't see why you have to have such an attitude in your replies.

if you don't care about this please do not bother answering.

over and out

SofoklisY,

There are plenty of other bit torrent applications that work fine with El Capitan while you're waiting for the specific BitTorrent application to be updated. You could use uTorrent, Transmission, Deluge, qBitTorrent, etc., etc., etc., etc.....

But for heavens sake, have a little patience. The developers are providing ALL these programs for FREE. You're not paying a penny. Neither is anyone else. And for some apps, they have to keep updating the application for every new version of Windows and Linux also, not just Mac.

Look: If you don't understand your current applications may not be compatible with a newer version of your OS, then you don't really have any business updating your OS. If you're too lazy to do your homework, don't update your OS. If you're not willing to use a different or new application to accomplish a task once you update, then you shouldn't update your OS.

So give it a rest, will you?

For what it's worth, I don't think your brevity in saying 'still waiting', when answering a different question seems offensive.

Seems like some of the EQ deprived keyboard warriors out there have seized upon a perceived opportunity to patronise you and assert their own sense of superiority. No doubt some of the initial answers are valid and plainly state the facts in a helpful way. It's obviously not Apple's fault or responsibility but you never implied that it was. The fact that you've posted your question on an Apple forum doesn't mean that you blame Apple either. Really the hostility and defensiveness in some of the posts are absurd. Thanks for posting the question and to the civil forum members who were kind enough to give a basic response without resorting to authoritarian lecturing and aggressive, demeaning remarks.

Actually, it was. As they provided no context to the comment aside from "Still waiting," it absolutely read like he didn't think anyone had properly answered him. It was rude, and it was dismissive, and as I said in my reply to that comment, if they'd said "I'm still waiting on a reply from the developers," there would have been no problem whatsoever. If they didn't want their comment to be taken incorrectly, they should have corrected themselves.

Furthermore, they shouldn't even be asking about why BitTorrent isn't working with El Capitan, because BitTorrent is used in the acquisition of copyrighted material, and if you choose to do that on your own time, none of us can stop you, but I think the Host draws the line at anyone here actually helping you do it.
