Updated my iPhone 6S today to iOS 9.1, and almost instantly it started to drain the battery. I have rebooted the iPhone, and still no success.
Had no problems with iOS 9.0.1.
Is there anyway to go back to iOS 9.0.1 safely? I have all of the backups on my systems, according to iTunes.

Yes, i can already give you a preliminary confirmation, I have restored the phone and the cpu is now back to normal levels.
I will double check again after installing all the applications I had before the restore but I am quite sure that this is the problem.
ios 9.1 drain battery too fast on ip6s+
Hi guys, I'm having exactly the same behavior on an iPhone 6 upgraded to iOS 9.1 last week (Operator is Swisscom which also sent operator settings update about same time as iOS 9.1 came out).
I already removed FB App with no improvement and the phone comes very hot when I make phone calls and and FaceTime.
Is really the only solution to re-format the complete iPhone and re-install all Apps one by one ? as well as rebuild all settings ?
Or a re-format followed by a an iTunes restore from last backup will do ?

Hotfix: manuelles Einspielen eines alten Carrier-Bundles was zum automatischen Downgrade auf Swisscom 22.0 führt. Darin ist Wifi-Calling noch nicht aktiviert, somit besteht auch das Problem mit der CPU-Last nicht mehr. Vorgehen,
iTunes Carrier-Testing einschalten, im Terminal ausführen und iTunes neu starten:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool YES
Altes Carrier-Bundle 21.2 für Swisscom herunterladen. Hinweis, 21.2 ist OK da dies autom. 22.0 aktiviert, man könnte auch ein noch älteres Bundle von Swisscom nehmen.

Heruntergeladenes Bundle nun mittels iTunes und verbundenem iPhone auf das Gerät laden. Dazu mittels alt-Taste auf "Nach Updates suchen" klicken und das ipcc File selektieren.
Das Gerät sollte nun das Bundle Swisscom 22.0 aktiv haben. Kontrolle auf dem Gerät "Einstellungen/Allgemein/Info -->Netzbetreiber". Achtung, bei der Frage "Update der Netzbetreiber-Einstellungen" auf "Später" drücken, ansonsten ist gleich wieder 22.1 aktiv.
-->Das Gerät sollte nun wieder wie gewohnt (ohne WiFi-Calling) funktionieren.

But iPhone was so hot and on charger that I cannot confirm yet it working or not 😐
But at least there is hope and I'll see how t goes until tomorrow.

It will work, but remember to not update the Carrier Bundle!
By the way you can check with some apps (Status, SysStatsMon, ...) that your CPU is now under 10-15% load 😎 and not 65-70% like before 😉
