iMac 27" Skylake (Late-2015) GPU crash - please help me verify

Hi

My new iMac 27" Skylake crashes during heavy GPU work. It crashes under OS X and Windows 8.1/Bootcamp.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I can crash the machine easily when running the Heaven GPU benchmark. A few minutes into a benchmark and the system will crash with a two coloured crash screen.

I have a ticket open with Applecare who have collected logs and who have sent the ticket on to the iMac engineering team. While I wait for the outcome it would be great if anyone else who owns a new Skylake iMac could help me out by also running the Heaven benchmark and seeing if their systems crash?

It's located here:

My specs:

Apple seems to have come to that conclusion as well.

They've asked for this iMac to be returned to them for further testing. A new unit will be dispatched to me.

I've seen people talk on Twitter about running Heaven GPU tests and no one mentioned a crash. So I assume my iMac is indeed faulty. My worry was that this a early release hardware issue that affected other people too. In which case I would have asked for a straight refund.

My 27" Late 2015 iMac Skylake 5k workstation running El Capitan is acting very similar. Constant app crashes, kernel panics and black screen exits to the log in screen. I work mostly in After Effects CC2014. QuickTime 7 and QT32 Server seem to be an issue. I have read about an Intel Skylake bug. We have reinstalled the OS X and it seems like more than a software issue. Sometimes it just shuts down and restarts with nothing running or rendering. Do you have any other info or advice?

I have the same issue, my iMac will just crash then reboot, sometimes the fans will speed up to full speed and the screen will go black then it will reboot, I have an appointment on Wednesday with the so called Apple Genius Bar, I want them to replace it as it clearly isn't working as it should.

Before I had this one I had the mid 2011 21.5" iMac and I had no problems with that at all, it ran as smooth as silk I am now regretting selling it and getting this rubbish!.

Ii have been dealing with this for 6 months. I am getting my 3rd replacement because they can't figure out what the deal is. I've had hardware replaced, removed software, upgraded and downgraded RAM using aftermarket as well as apple RAM. I am beyond frustrated.

My first machine was plagued with kernel panics. This machine is just unstable in regard to everything.... UGH!!!

Check it out, this is just the past 30 days
