Same thing I am wondering. Have no idea what it is or what it's doing. I hate when new things pop up on my computer after updates.
Noticed that just after 10.11.1 update... Spotlight doesn't find it on my hd... Hope it isn't a sh1tware...
I don't think Apple would put "sh1tware" as you call it on their OS lol. Apple does sometimes make changes or add or delete something and not mention anything about it.
Someone here has to know what it is right?
No one here can provide an answer to what this is?
Sorry I answer just to keep the post up... we really need to know what is "followupd". Thanks !
I have not yet found what it is, but I do know where it is located. Spotlight does not search in packages or system folders, which is why it does not appear in your search results. It is found in the folder /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreFollowUp.framework/Versions/A/Support/fol lowupd. There is also a launch agent which can be found in /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.followupd.plist.
Thank you very much. Now we need to know its purpose.
I found this post on reddit regarding this "followupd" file... I couldn't figure out what it was either. Intriguing! 😕

thank you.
Looks like no one knows what it is, but the closest answer I found here as to its purpose is this: Re: what is the program followupd in Notifications?
Thank you.
