Are there any iphone deal for impoverished families?

Hi! So recently my 'dumb' prepaid phone started to die on me. I can't afford to replace it with anything but another very crappy phone for my $35 unlimited talk and text plan on Verizon. Due to my mountainous area sadly Verizon (very overpriced I know) is all that works for me as they own a lot of signaling stations. That being said, my mom recently got an iphone from her sisters who went in half and half for a two year contract through verizon to pay the $200 on the iphone 6s. We aren't made of money. They saved for it under the assumption I had one, without asking me, and since my Mother didn't have a cell phone before, she's going to keep it. Understandable. Over the next two years I simply cannot afford anything but bills, loans, credit card debt, and food, and I know they have kids to take care of and had to skimp and save. I'll be the first in my family to get a college degree, while also working full-time (gotta get a head start on that loan interest) actually. So my question for you is, does apple have a program for impoverished folk to help pay for any version of an iphone so I can use it on my cheap prepaid plan and video chat with my Mom who doesn't own a computer and hasn't seen my face in God knows how long? She's 5 hours away so usually I can't even afford to drive down to NJ to see her so obviously this means a lot to me and after asking the Verizon forum I got no where. I'm convinced fewer and fewer people can afford to pay out of pocket for iphones because they cost as much as a really nice desktop computer. I digress. I feel absolutely horrible but I can't afford a $200 phone and do not want a 2 year contract. Does anyone have any helpful tips on how they afforded to pay for one, or what not? I also cannot afford monthly payments as I'm already super tight on money doing 3 monthly payments for loans and credit card debt. Also, I'm not looking for the most recent model or anything. I just wanna have an iphone so I know everything is compatible with mom and we can even game together on those free apps as it would be fun to bum some time with her teaching her how to play a video game...from her 29 yr old daughter lol. I know Verizon will not offer free phones unless you were already a contract customer and can trade in an old iphone. I'm not. I also want to keep my number and be able to transfer my contacts which I think you can do with any Verizon compatible phone. Anywho, I already work full time and go to college full time so please be kind to me and do not suggest I 'work more' to afford one. I can't drop below an A average or I won't get into the grad program I want to be in as funding is very competitive for ecological field research.
