I have had this exact trouble since I got my iPhone 6s running 9.2. The Genuis insisted that I update my password even though I had done it a year prior and met all Apple criteria. So, it was reset. Painful with all the Apple devices I have. We tried every fix they had including set up as new. Nope. It used to be only when I power cycled the phone but now, the alerts appear out of nowhere and clearly my password does not need updating. It also drops wifi connection from time to time. Woke up to an alert and LTE network rather than wifi.

My iPad Air 9.0.1 and iPad 8.4.1 don't do this.

I have a a senior advisor and engineering on this and all I know is that they're "aware" of the verification prompts and have no work around and cannot fix it now. Hope the update helps because I am not updating anything to 9.2 until my phone is better.

To pinkapplemac Like you I have 2 IPhones & i'll update 1 and see how it gets on for about 6mths before I do both. I need at least 1 working phone from what I've read on line. I'll let you know how I get on.

I have an iPhone running iOS 9.1 and the "Apple ID Verification" pops up every time I unlock my phone.

I did my first apple post last week about another bug where it said I'd not logged in for 48 hours and therefore needed to input my password. I had been using my phone all day so I knew this had to be a bug. Since posting that comment I keep being asked to input my apple id for verification. When I did that my apple id had been locked so I had to reset it. I've had the same apple id password since my first iphone 4 in 2011. I've now had to change it to something new as I couldn't simply unlock the id. Since then I've been asked for the same verification on iCloud for my PC, iPad and iPhone - despite doing all 3 following the password change. This has to be a bug and one that is annoying. I don't know whether it is just co-incidence that I'd posted on apple support and had my apple id locked but I can say that I'm the only person that has access to any of my devices and I've not entered an incorrect password once since this started - I was locked out on the first attempt because it never once said to me - password incorrect.

I, too am having this problem. It just started happening after I updated to iOS 9.2 when it dropped yesterday.

Could this be an iOS 9.2 bug? Ironic since iOS 9.2 was supposed to be a bug fix release...

To All, This morning I updated one of my IPhone 5s to 9.2 and now I can't get back in it?? I no longer get "Apple ID Verification" it now tells me "Verification Failed, An unknown error occurred"?? so now & yes password changed AGAIN. To me 9.2 has lock me OUT of my very EXPENSIVE phone so now I have to wait for 9.3 to come out so I can HOPEFULLY get back in. Words can't express how I'm feeling right NOW. I'll put it like this" How good is it if I can't get in it to find out. Apple get a GRIP. All I would like is my phones to work like they did when I got them NEW PLEASE. I've paid you enough money for PHONES. STOP work on your new IPhone 7 if that's what your doing & FIX the ones you made to date PLEASE we will all appreciate it. And yes on one of my phones I can get in to my Apple Account so I know its not the phone. So for now I will have to put up with "Apple ID Verification" Popping up for a while longer until a new update comes out. APPLE.........

I've been playing with my phone for a while now & i'll be honest I don't know what's go on with it. When Apple ID Verification comes up I hit Not Now & then go into settings, iTunes & App" & I'm signed in. So now I'm not sure what Apple ID Verification mean???? So Who can help???

I Was having a very similar situation. I turned off "share my purchases" and it was instantly better. That option is under Settings > iCloud > Family > Organizer

To Gprice06 Thanks for tip but I've not setup Family sharing. When I updated to 9.1 & Started to get bugs I Didn't setup some of the app on my phone so I could see what work & what didn't. 1 problem that I've found is in settings, ICloud. my old email address is still visible in Apple ID but I've change it in contact information where its my new email address visible??

To All, You mite not LIKE THIS but today I had enough so I done a Erase All Content & Settings "I MUST SAY I HAVE 2 IPHONES long story" Started Setup from the beginning & now I have to say I have found NO problems YET. It works like a IPhone, Yeah I know- no Apple ID Verification, No Verification Failed it just seems to work now. So please "DON'T DO THIS IF NOT BACKUP YET" but for now it's working fine. I'm on IPhone 5s 9,2. And as yet i've not done all the Apps I had on it. I'll give it about a week or 2 "maybe a month" & if it's still working i'll do the other one "phone that is". It's that ERASE bit I didn't like much but it worked. So all I have to say to APPLE is if this works I CANT GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN so LAST UPDATE FOR ME. HI,, I just started,having the same problem with the apple verification poping up. HELP!!!!!!!!!

My problem with this went away. What I did was go to iTunes/View/Account. After entereing my password I scrolled down to devices. I found several iPads and iPhones that we no longer owned. I removed them and noticed I wasn't getting the notification any longer. Hope that helps but I'm not sure if this was a fix or a coincidence. I really hope it doesn't return, as it's quite annoying.

If it helps, I didn't do anything and the problem just magically went away after a few days.

Server side issue after the 9.2 update?

Oh well, as long as it doesn't happen anymore, I'm happy.

Updated to 9.2 and after restarting it asked me for verification. Put in Apple ID and password and have not had the request for verification for several days. I hope itis gone forever!
