I want to add Arabic Language support for my Apple Mac

I have Apple MacBook Pro and I use Microsoft Office suite. I want to add Arabic Language support to be able to create and edit documents in Arabic Language

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

MS Word for Mac does not yet support Arabic. Every other app should work ok: TextEdit, Pages, Mellel, Nisus, LibraOffice, etc. It is best to use one of them instead.


I assume you understand how to add an Arabic keyboard via system prefs/keyboard/input sources?


There is a workaround for Word for Mac which some find useful: Create an arabic document in Windows Word, Word Online, or iOS Word and import it into your Mac as a template. This can then sometimes be used to do correct arabic.
