Unable to log into iCloud under Windows 10. A window comes out with a "dialog placeholder" instead of the proper dialog controls for username and password.

Have you had any luck so far? After quite a bit of searching, I came across this post and it is the exact same issue I am facing. In my case, iCloud worked correctly before. In order to solve another issue, I created a domain account on the Windows 8.1 machine and when I went to iCloud, this happened. Tried uninstalling as admin on the other account and reinstalling; no joy.
Found the answer for me anyway. Running Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. Uninstalled iCloud Control Panel (version 5) and downloaded and installed v 3.1.0.40 from a third party site. Problem gone.
Looks like a typical compatibility issue.
I was able to fix the problem by reinstalling iCloud, but I had to run the install program as administrator.
