I am having trouble using the Harmony Ultimate Home to control ATV4g apps that use the Apple Remote's touch surface. The 'Direction Up', 'Direction Down'. et al. gestures (swipes) available on the Harmony hand unit's touch surface do not appear to map 1:1 to the Apple Remote's swipe gestures. Since ATV4g apps are free to - encouraged to - leverage the Apple Remote's gesture capabilities, this is making my Harmony Home Ultimate of limited use with ATV4g. This is not a Apple problem - but providing feedback on this topic for Harmony users' benefit.

As best I can tell, my Harmony Smart Control remote is missing at least one critical command, swipe up (direction up while watching a video, for example). It does appear to be able to execute the swipe down command (via the direction down key press) but is not capable of executing the swipe up command while watching a video.

For example, when watching a video (Youtube, Hulu, etc) if you swipe up on the Apple TV remote it reveals a custom menu (On Hulu Live it shows what's playing next and allows you to add the current show to your DVR). However, although you can click up to get the swipe up menu, clicking down does not give you the swipe up menu.

My old white plastic Apple TV remote works with the Apple TV 4th gen (including navigation in text entry). If you have a remote control you can program I'd configure it to be an older Apple TV remote and use that profile.

The Siri remote is Bluetooth - so you won't be able to pair or learn that (even if your remote control system has Bluetooth support for PS3 type remotes I very much doubt it will have Siri remote support yet).

I use a Harmony Touch together with a Harmony Hub. Replaced the 3. Generation with the new 4. Generation (hardware). Didn't make any adjustments on the Harmony configuration and it works. Can use it for search (move to the keyboard on the screen) etc. The new Apple TV 4th generation isn't available at the Logitech hardware database at the moment. Search with the Model No. didn't show a result.
