As I previously advised - originally in October 2015 and subsequently in August 2017, Apple Pay is not currently available in India:

Hi

Apple Pay is presently only available within the US and UK. Unless your device is set to one of those regions, you will not see the option to add cards.

You can also only add supported cards from participating banks or stores within those countries.

Debit cards are not acceptable in India. The only acceptable cards are shown when you edit your payment details. A Visa sign does not mean Visa Debit anywhere unless it specifically says so.

This is not relevant to your question, so can be disregarded.

As Apple Pay is not presently available in India, it is not possible to state which cards may / may not be supported there if Apple Pay does become available in the future.

The comments can be disregarded precisely because it is necessary to wait and see what cards will be included if and when Apple Pay launches in India. In the meantime, the comments are both speculation and, unfortunately, inaccurate.

Apple Pay has neither been launched nor announced in India, so there are no acceptable or unacceptable cards, nor is there any way to edit payment details for it. You may have been referring instead to:

- iTunes Store in India: which does accept certain debit cards from certain local banks.

- India generally: where debit cards account for more cards in issue and more transactions than credit cards.

This is incorrect. In many countries (presently including India), merchants accept all categories of Visa cards whilst displaying only the standard Visa symbol / brand mark. In some other countries (presently including the US), merchants may have different policies for different card categories. In the US, displaying only the standard Visa symbol / brand mark should indicate that the merchant accepts all Visa cards. Signage for specific card types should only be shown when limited acceptance policies apply.

This is not necessary. Apple Pay has not launched in India, so it is not presently possible to set it up or add cards from any banks there.

I Think you did not get the point. This is not about adding your card to Apple's payment gateway which is used for purchasing items from AppStore or iTunes. We are talking about a app which is known as Wallet in India and Apple Pay in UK, US and Europe. This app actually let users to add their credit and debit card in the app and user can pay at various store using that app. This particular app not launched in India yet.
