iMovie 10.1 multiple downgrade issues

There seem to be quite a few very useful features taken away from 10.1 that were present in 10.0.9, and I was wondering if there are good reasons or alternative workflow proposals. I've only been using 10.1 for 30 minutes, but thought it might help to try to list them, and hopefully cross them off as the solution becomes clear.

Firstly, the wrapping timeline option in the view menu is gone. This omission is difficult to understand as per this thread. As well as reducing the number of visible clips by 1/3-1/4, horizontal scrolling does not feel as 'normal' as vertical. The only use for an unwrapped timeline, for me, was to adjust the speed of a clip (but only because it was not possible when viewing a wrapped timeline); and to determine the length of a section of a movie. Which leads nicely to the next point.

Secondly, the time has been completely removed from the timeline. There now doesn't seem to be any way to know when a clip is within a movie project, or to calculate the duration of a section between two clips within a movie. Many versions ago, there was a show playhead option, which was a good solution - showing the timepoint within the movie, even within a clip. This was dropped, however, a while ago, but there was visible time point information above the unwrapped timeline, which persisted in iMovie 10.0.9, but is now gone. A timeline without time information? Couldn't be.

Thirdly, the right click menu options when editing a project seem to be gone. This was much easier than having to go to the menus.

Fourthly, the slider which used to adjust the horizontal scale of the clips within a project doesn't seem to do anything. It is possible to use cmd-minus or cmd-+, but the slider is still there. I'd really like to know if this is a mistake or if the slider is doing something I'm not aware of.

Please feel free to list more features that have disappeared, or if you are 'in the know', please share an explanation or the alternative - better way.

After a reboot, the time counter now updates when the playhead moves forward and when clips are deleted (the second issue above); and the slider adjusts the horizontal scale of the clips (fourth issue).

I've been working for a few hours, and it's all a bit quicker than the previous version. I've dragged the split view down to maximize the viewing area and minimise the horizontally scrolling timeline. I'm slowly getting used to working horizontally, and guess this won't be as big a problem as it first appears. Little things, like cut and paste, anti-shake, and the speed of zooming the timeline are faster and easier now.

Some other strange stuff has happened, like the Photos Library disappeared, but it did come back after a reboot. Maybe the only thing I'm still missing is the right click menu option, but I guess I can learn the key strokes.

I think it going to be all right.
