getting error message "p03-map.mail.me.com" server connection issue

Receive the following error message when trying to connect to iCloud account using the mail application on my mac:

The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “p03-imap.mail.me.com” using SSL on the default ports. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct.

Can anyone assist?
