just got my new Apple TV 4th gen and using it to home share my iTunes music collection like I used to with my previous Apple TVs however on a song is played it is not updating the play count in iTunes. Previous Apple TVs have done this. I have checked all my settings and cannot get it to update my play counts. Is this a bug? Any suggestions people?
That was me. I speculated the fix would be in the current beta.
Still no fix. My Apple TV 4th gen continues to gather dust.

Apple won't respond to feedback. You'll just have to wait and see.
SSeveral of us have submitted bug reports which have been marked as duplicate issues, so yes they have known about it for many months.

Now I just need to get used to that awful new remote when controlling music. I'm skipping through tracks by accident and stopping the music by accident. Arghhhh.
Yeah, and now that I'm trying it out, I really miss being able to see the music progress bar with the song length. I know you can tap the touch area of the remote to bring it up for 5 seconds or so, but I wish there was a way to make it stick in that mode where it shows the song progress.
I guess it wouldn't be Apple if they didn't take away something useful with each UI revision.

Yeah. I miss the progress bar too. I tap the touch area but it seems to stop the music!
IVe sort sort of gone back to using the old remote. Even picking up the new remote seems to accidentally register a scroll or a skip.

I just realized play counts aren't uploading for me either when I play music with home sharing on the Apple TV. So ... I guess I need to "rel led the Home Sharing", but I'm not sure what that means! Help? Thanks!
