This is the first time I found someone exactly describe my problem. I found a bunch of posts about flickering pointers and links in browsers. I also found posts on the Adobe website about flickering pointers while using Adobe products and Wacom tablets. After a startup or restart the pointer is fine. I have tried to note exactly when or what triggers the problem, but I haven't been able to pinpoint it yet. I'm suspecting it may have something to do with the Adobe products, but the problem affects the Finder and any software after it starts. The problem continues even after quitting all Adobe software. I have a Mac Pro - Early 2008. When I updated to OS 10.10 the problem started. OS 10.10 did not move my Wacom driver to the Incompatible Software folder. OS 10.11 did. Since the tablet worked OK with OS 10.10 it would seem Wacom is not the problem. But who knows? I was hoping updating to OS 10.11 would fix the problem. No luck there. If there is anyone out there that has the magic bullet for this perplexing pain in the butt problem I would greatly appreciate shooting my system with it. It will save me a lot of time starting, restarting, starting in safe mode, googling down blind alleys, tracking down some command line trick on the Mac developer website...Help! I'm hoping that leaving my experience here might give someone a clue to help find a fix for this problem.
If I do find the answer, I will certainly post it here.
