car bluetooth problems with iOS 9 update

Since doing iOS 9 update my iPhone 5 won't reliably work in my car (mercedes benz clk with bluetooth adaptor)

previously under iOS 8 it worked perfectly pairing automatically when in car, and diverting calls to car system both incoming and outgoing all worked flawlessly even

siri would work through dashboard microphone

now it is total chaos

some times it works immediately, some times it refuses to work at all

most times it is unpredictable and often requires toggling blue tooth on and off on both phone and dashboard until ringtones heard through dashboard speaker system

what works in the morning won't reliably work in the afternoon

if tried reset phone

forget this device

repairing

not sure what else i can try

wish i could down grade back to iOS 8

I am having the same issue. Since the latest update to 9.2 my iPhone 6s will connect via bluetooth to my 2016 Kia Sorento, but the music will not play. The song shows up on the screen, but no sound comes out of the speaker. I cleared my car device off of my phone and I re connected to my car, and it started working perfectly, but then it stopped working again. I have to keep deleting the device off my car and phone and re connecting.

I have had similar problems with my 2015 GMC since iOS 9. My iphone 6 connects fine and takes calls but won't go back to the previous state of radio play after the call is ended. I have to manually switch back to the radio or it will begin to play music from my phone, didn't do that with iOS 8. It also flips out if I open Facebook and connects like it's trying to play music through the radio! Again none of this happened before iOS 9.

My Chevy pickup will quit playing XM radio anytime someone calls, apple maps, google maps, or even when i pull up facebook in the car. I have to re-adjust volume, restart XM every time. i have disabled Itunes becuase i got sick of it playing any random song. I have tried to adjust settings in phone and truck settings several times, but zero success. This is not only super annoying but dangerous as i reach down ever time to readjust. I have even disabled car play but that didnt seem to help anything.

Same issues as stated above.

2015 Silverado LTZ with Chevrolet MyLink 8'' Touchscreen

iPhone 6 (iOS 9.2)

I have unpaired/reset my iPhone/paired again with no success.

After receiving a call and hanging up, (doesn't matter if I hang up or the caller hangs up)the stereo sits on a Bluetooth device screen with no audio output. App usage causes the same issue. Only manually changing back XM/FM etc. works, it doesn't automatically return like it used to.

Like you all I am having the same exact issues with my 2015 GMC Sierra with the 8" screen.

When ending a phone call the radio remains silent in Bluetooth mode and will not switch back to what I was previously listening too.

If an app interrupts the radio it does not return either. If you open the camera app or the photo app it turns the radio off as well.

And when you get in the car and start it up it automatically switches to Bluetooth and starts playing random music from my phone. This only started happening after I updated to 9.2, before that I had zero issues with it.

I hope either Apple or GMC can get this resolved soon.

iOS 9.2 still hasn't fixed this issue.

In fact, up until iOS 9.2. my phone worked perfectly with my MY13 Land Rover Discovery HSE but after 9.2, the phone will not link to the music system. I can get all phone functions but the ability to stream music via Bluetooth, or listen to audiobooks, is gone and the music system cannot see the phone.

I'm really starting to get sick of Apple products.
