Which will not work with Apple apps. See this from their FAQ list: Apple does not provide native mouse support for iOS. The Citrix X1 Mouse communicates directly with Citrix Receiver as opposed to communicating with iOS. Citrix X1 Mouse and Citrix Receiver utilize Appleâs publically supported APIs to establish the Bluetooth communication (BLE) between the X1 Mouse and Citrix Receiver. The mouse functionality is only available on XenApp and XenDesktop hosted apps and desktops and Citrix ShareConnect, ShareConnect and GoToMyPC mobile apps, the mouse will not function for other iOS apps. The mouse can also be used on a non-iOS device, in which case the X1 Mouse behaves just like a standard Bluetooth 4.0 mouse.
Of course he heard it. Where were you? It was a momentous statement. So far it just looks like marketing without substance, sadly.
And he did not mention Mouse support being needed, and it isn't. The IPP has the largest trackpad seen yet, mouse support is neither needed or desirable.

Well you're not reading it correctly then. This is about iPad Pro ONLY.
Really, so you broke out the numbers for MS's top model Surface Pro only, correct? I mean if it's about comparing fairly, and not iPad sales to Surface Pro sales, then surely you are only comparing iPad Pro sales to MS Surface Pro 4 sales, correct?
(and I'll add that neither company provides sales figures broken out by model - only by product line, so a direct comparison is impossible without insider info).

Are you his spokesperson?
O.k. Phil does say that in the Keynote. Still a far cry form being fully marketed as as such, but I'll give yiu that one anyway.

A PRO model should give you choices. A power user should get to determine how he likes to point. I have hope.
So at the end of the day, this is all about what you want. Rather than actual business model sense. It's about you wanting a mouse. Not about what really makes sense for the design and interface they have been going for, for 6 years in 12 different iPads.
You just want a mouse and gosh darn it, Apple should give it to you regardless of anything else.
It is not necessary to highlight your personal opinions by using Bold Text, we can easily tell which they are
All of these posters chose to buy a tablet that does not provide what they want?
Caveat Emptor
Well when you say it that way I feel really selfish. NOT.
I'm surprised I'm getting any sort of reaction at all. This has really raised quite a little firestorm. Why in the world would anyone care if a pointer appeared on a screen if I allowed it to in settings? Who would be harmed by it?
This very thoughtful little enhancement (which admittedly will NOT drive behavior for ALL ipad users since we all know that market research says we won't use it and who cares if it did catch on?) would appeal to some people is my point (most probably to those who think the ipad PRO should go as far as it can to approximate a laptop where it's easily done). Use it or don't, ship it with the default on off. Many people would appreciate it. You have the Surface sales to prove that point. Being loyal to Apple means I want them to relentlessly improve. I think there are plenty who think as I do about this minor feature.
I'm backing out now....slowly....carefully...with my back to the door....and......I'm out!!!! LOL.
I'm assuming Apple put the Bold icon there for a reason. I used it for emphasis only; as if we were having a cordial discussion. đ
Go and buy something that does what you want, spend your money and your time wisely.

Boy, you are new here đ This thread is nothing compared to some in past years.
And you are entirely entitled to your opinion and to suggest it to Apple at the feedback web site. None of us know what Apple may, or may not, be cooking up for future hardware and software.
If what Apple offers currently doesn't work for somebody, then there are other options (and thank goodness for choices in consumer electronics - how boring would things be without them?).
I for one feel that since they are trying to sell the iPad Pro (specifically the 12") as a laptop replacement it has to support a mouse. For me I would gladly stop carrying my laptop if it had a mouse as it would be a pleasure to work on for a few hours away from my desk. But without a mouse I can't, just not convenient or as efficient. This isn't about using Facebook or something but using the iPad with a VDI solution to replace a laptop.
