My headphone jack doesn't fit in my MBP 13" 2012

Hi,

So I have been using the same headphones on my mac for about a year now. Everything went well until tonight, when I wanted to listen some music and tried to plug my headphones in my MBP. But, I couldn't plug them in and the headphone jack couldn't go all the way in the macbook pro (it was going to the last little line but stopped there). I then checked inside the jack to see if there wasn't any lint there like other posts said, but it was completely clean and I could see the golden bottom. I tried several times with other headphones and materials, nothing helped 😟

I don't see any red lights coming out of the jack like some other posts on the forum reported, so I decided to make my own thread because none of the solutions proposed on other posts worked.

I appears that you have something stuck in the jack, Occasionally, the tip of a plug will break off and remain in the jack. The golden bottom could be a tip. Or maybe the jack failed in another way.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your help! I sent my computer to the guy that's in charge of the computers at my school and told me it was probably the jack that had a shock or something, and that it broke it + engaged the optical output mode (bad luck lol).

Temporary solution for the people that have the same problem: I used a MIDI controller connected by USB to connect my headphones in and it worked so it's a temporary solution before I send my mac to get repaired.
