likely
1 mic for when you are holding it up to your ear
1 mic for when in speakerphone mode (this ones level should be more sensitive then the first one)
1 mic on the for recording with the back cam (this direction would be aimed at what you record)

Not quite, the rear Mic is the noise cancellation mic (because it is 180 degrees out of phase with the front). And it is also used as the 'back cam mic when videos are recorded (at which point the front mic becomes the noise cancellation mic.
I'll rephrase.
Obviously the bottom microphone picks up my voice for normal telephone calls since it's the microphone that's closest to my mouth. Is it the same if the headset jack is connected to my car stereo? Is it the same if the lightning jack is connected to a charger? (In both of those cases, I'm not likely to have the phone by my mouth.)
Which microphone is used to pick up the "Hey Siri" sounds? Is it the same if the headset jack is connected to my car stereo? Is it the same if the lightning jack is connected to a charger?
In case you're wondering, in the car, the phone will be connected to my stereo aux input and to a charger. I've experimented with several car mounts and the one that's the most convenient for me slightly blocks the bottom microphone.
I've never bothered to find out, it was never significant to me. I don't take calls when I'm driving, and if I need a map the car's GPS is way better than the iPhone's navigation. So no, don't know (or care) 🙂
And I thought that you had a thirst for knowledge!
I went back and forth between the iPhone and my Garmin unit with various reasons why one (or the other) is better. For me I decided that it was a tossup and I'm going with the phone because of the "single gadget" theory.
No one knows?
Some, but multi tasking in fast cars was never an area of interest, I just drive, call me later.
I used to be fast in my younger days but now I'm half-fast.
🙂
Don't I know it.
Everyone talks too much anyhow.
