Could not connect to Apple TV (2015) on Yosemite (10.10.5) Macbook Pro (Early 2015)

Ive tried to switch off the firewall, but nothing. What apps should I add to the list of apps to make my apple tv working with airplay mirroring. Not only via iTunes on my macbook.

I've been experiencing the same issue in a corporate environment. Upgrading a few MacBooks to El Capitan seem to make them work.

Same issue with an ATV2 & ATV4, both with the latest software for each device. My MBP Early 2011, running 10.11.3, will not connect to either ATV... This just started within the last week for me.

The same thing has just started for me on my Mac Mini 2012 with OS 10.11.3 and third generation ATV. I can connect via AirPlay to the ATV with the iPad and iPhone.

While trying various things the ATV indicated there was an update available so I let it update to 7.2.1 (8011). The Mac Mini will still not connect to it.

make sure both computer firewall and! router allow the required ports TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products - Apple Support

I Didn't change my router parameters before it stopped working. Something wrong with my Macbook. I've done different options with firewall.

The router is an Airport Extreme with no changes to default settings, or other changes in many months. I've made no changes to the Firewall settings on the Mac either, but just to confirm I turned the Firewall off with no change to the access to the ATV.

I am having the exact same issue! Was on the phone with apple support for TWO HOURS today. And they could not fix it either. This is so frustrating...

Okay, so as I stated yesterday, I was getting connection error messages between my MBP and two different ATVs. Additionally, I was also getting an error message when trying to log in to the App Store. I called Apple Support today to remedy the App Store issue and oddly enough the remedy for that issue also solved my ATV connection issue. Weird, I know, but true.

Drive path: Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ Move NetworkInterfaces.plist to the Trash and then Restart.

What are the consequences after deleting this file? Will I lose any settings?

I had no issues after the restart. I kept the file in the Trash and after the restart a new file was created at the same location. At that point I emptied the trash and all has been good.

I just did this with my MacBookPro (early 2011) on el Capitan with Apple TV 2nd Generation - it suddenly stopped connecting to Apple TV vial air plan and I kept getting the message "could not connect to Apple TV". I tried everything else imaginable but this suggestion worked. I'd sure like to know why if anyone has the technical knowledge to explain it.

Glad for you. I just want to make it work with all new devices I have. only thing Apple care suggested me to remove all settings and restore as a new MacBook. Which is wasting so much time and nerves.

Thanks for that, worked for me.. bizarrely, the macbook would connect to the ATV via airplay icon in itunes, but not the airplay off the desktop.. anyway deleting the network file and restarting has sorted it.. thx
