How to upgrade notes app?

Hello

I have an iPhone 6. When I first updated my iPhone to iOS 9, I launched the Notes app, and for whatever reason, I said I didn't want to upgrade to the new notes app. Now I cannot find a way to upgrade to the new notes app. Does anyone have any idea how I could do this?

Thanks!

If you're at the current version of iOS then Notes should also be the current version. The first time you run it Notes will prompt to update your Notes files to the new format. I believe it will also warn you that if you don't have all your Apple devices at El Capitan and iOS 9 your notes won't be available on all devices until they are updated.

It did prompt me to update my notes to the new version, but I hit the little button on the bottom that said "Skip". So I do have iOS 9 (iOS 9.1 now) but not the new notes because I declined at the time. I understand it sounds weird to not have the current version of notes even though I have the latest iOS, but that's what happened. And now I can't find a way to update the app...

So you have actually opened a new note, correct? I upgraded mine later as well, and I know there was an upgrade option, just can't remember where in the heck it was..... 😐 I'll keep looking.

You might want to make sure that you are in the iCloud Notes - it may be that you have to be in that group to see the upgrade button? On the "Note List" screen click on the back arrow at the top left, and then make sure you are in the iCloud notes group.....just a thought. It is possible that that is the page where the "Upgrade" button is also.

Cheers,

Ahah! It turns out my iCloud notes were somehow turned off... I guess I haven't ever had them on? (my only apple device is an iPhone, so I haven't really ever needed to have them sync). I didn't know the new note features are only available when creating iCloud notes, and not "local" notes. Well anyways, now that I've turned that on and can create a note in the iCloud folder, my problem is solved and I see the new features.

Thanks for the help!
