I can't seem to open one particular website.

I can't seem to open one particular website. I've done everything from clearing my cookies, cache, history to opening up safe mode and trying from there. Is it my certificates on Mountain Lion? it's only this one site?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Thank you, etresoft! That makes a lot of sense to me! Can you tell me, please, if the site bluehost.com had to have recently made a certificate change to their site because just last week - or so - I had no problem connecting to their site.

Also, I'm just wondering - out loud, and I apologize if it seems like an silly question - but why can't Apple Developers just simply send out an update for Safari Mountain Lion to accept the 'A' in the TLS. How many thousands of people are still on Mountain Lion - as you say, it is one of the last fast, robust, stable operating systems. How does it make sense to upgrade to something that is "buggy" and "slow"? Not to mention, cripples my ability to work on programs (i.e.: Photoshop CS5, AI, Adobe Elements etc. - according Adobe are not tested with the new OS) which provides me with my bread and butter and helps keep the wolves from my door. Despite the eccentric ways of Steve Jobs I miss his determination and passion for high standards…but enough said, I'll get off my soap box now. :-\

And, I just wanna say, I really appreciate all the support this group has provided me. It's good to be able to have a forum of people who are willing to help. Thank you all very much, much appreciated!

Hello again Irene,

I don't think it is the certificate. That was issued in March. I think it is the server configuration that was probably updated. These security protocols are being hacked on a regular basis these days. I can understand why a site might discontinue support for older ones.

I can't get into a discussion of Apple policies regarding software maintenance and upgrades. That is, as we used to say, a can-o-worms.

I can't seem to open one particular website.
