Watch pairing without having to reset?
I have two Apple watches and I've had difficulty with both when trying to pair the watch with iPhone 6 and 6S. I thought I'd share my experience in hopes it might help others. The issue for me is that when trying to pair with a watch that has been previously paired and setup, then unpaired .. the view finder would not read the watch and there was no "I" that reference is made to in the setup instructions. For a watch that has been set up and previously paired, then unpaired for whatever reason, I've tried very trick in the book to get it paired through Bluetooth and the Watch app. I can't find a way to do it. The only way to "re-pair" is to go into settings, then general, then select re-set. I did a reset on the iphone at the same time .. don't know if that's essential or not, but I assumed it couldn't hurt. So, once the watch wipes the settings and comes back online, the first thing it was address is pairing. The watch brings up the screen with the "I" and I haven't found any other way to get to that screen unless the watch is reset, then it comes up automatically when booting up. From there, you have the option of pairing with your phone via view finder or manually. After I selected automatic, I lined up the watch and view finder on the phone and detected the watch in a matter of seconds. From there, you continue the set up as prompted.... this morning, I chose a recent backup from which to restore and the watch was paired and working in a matter of minutes. But again, I posted this because I can't find any way to pair the watch after it's been unpaired without wiping it and starting all over. If someone has a work around, please share, Otherwise, at least his post should help you get your watch re-paired. 😎
