Show previous sort order next to latest

I have a golf pool that shows the participants standings after the conclusion of the tournament.

After every tournament I re-sort the column to show the most recent standings. Is there a way to save and display the previous standings of the participants before I re-sort the column? I'd like the new sheet to display the information below.

I would keep a column filled with the formula (for lack of a better name lets call this the "source"):

=row()-1

in column A

... that is, insert a new column before the current column A, then select cell A2, then type (or copy and paste from here) the formula

=row()-1

select cell A2, copy

select column A, paste

this will ALWAYS be 1 thru N (where N is the numbers rows).

Now add columns for each weeks ranks (named Week 0, Week 1, Week 2, etc...)

sort the table by latest earnings

then select the column with the "source" ranks, copy

now select this weeks rank column, then use the menu item "Edit > Paste Formula Results"

Thanks Wayne.

I don't require the ability to show the results for every week of the pool on this table. I have another that shows each weeks results. I've changed the numbers below to show the "before sort "view.

I'd like the "after sort" view to look like this.

I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how to implement your solution. Are you saying I'd require another column in addition to what I show above ?

Thanks - James
