unwanted black line after crop on bottom and right side of photo

Hi, since i am using el capitan 10.11.1 with Aperture 3.6 using the crop tool, my photos get an unwanted thin black linearound the photo at the bottom and/or right side of the photo.

i thought it was a similar problem as the colour in onscreen proofing mode and that it would not be visible in print. but the line shows on the print too.

what should i do? HELP

How old is your colormunki software?

The only suspects I am seeing are your wacom tablet software, the xrite colormunki, and the startup item Protec6b.

Have you checked for updates for the xrite software and checked the webpage for known issues with El CApitan?

Your tablet and color calibration are probably essential for your work, but if you cannot find updates, I'd test, if uninstalling will help.

Delete the startup item from /Library/StartupItems/ProTec6b.

Make a backup of your system as it is now.

Then make sure, that you still have the original iinstallers for the software, so you can reinstall, and run the uninstallers. restart your mac and test.

Nov 15, 2015 1:04 AM in response to redlev

removed the ProTec, uninstalled both wacom and x-rite, emptied the bin, restarted and bug is still there...

Run Etrecheck again, to be sure, that the uninstallers did not miss anything.

Have you already tried to reinstall Aperture after you updated the wacom driver? The discussion is so long by now, it is hard to keep track of what you tried.

If you already reinstalled Aperture, it is time to send a bug report to Apple: Apple - Aperture - Feedback

I'll ask others to jump in and have a look at your installation as well.

Nov 15, 2015 1:02 AM in response to léonie

i re-installed Aperture when you suggested it. so far i went through all your instructions

most of them i could remove, these last ones i am not able to remove it seems. when i want to drag them to the bin, the application FAF says the items cab not be deleted, stops responding and i have to force quit it.

when emptying the bin, it shows that some items can not be deleted because they are in use... what can i do?

in addition i deleted all colormunki items

Nov 15, 2015 4:03 AM in response to redlev

The "Invalid Signature" is showing for my Aperture as well. And for all items not purchased from the App Store. Apple stopped selling Aperture, so I suspect they did not bother to update the developer signature.

I am still seeing two colormunki entries - it is in your login items and there is a suspicious crash log:

User Login Items: (What does this mean?)

iTunesHelper Application (/Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunesHelper.app)

Dropbox Application (/Applications/Dropbox.app)

ColorMunki Photo Tray Application (/Library/Application Support/Colormunki/Photo/Tools/ColorMunki Photo Tray.app)

Nov 15, 2015, 10:52:42 AM ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ColorMunki Photo Tray_2015-11-15-105242_[redacted].crash

Try to remove the login item :

  • Disable colormunki in System preferences > Users&Groups Login Items.
  • Bring the Finder forward and press the key combination ⇧⌘G .
  • Paste /Library/Application Support/Colormunki/ into the Got to Folder field.
  • In the window that open remove the complete folder /Library/Application Support/Colormunki/

Then log off and on again, and the system should be clean.

Nov 15, 2015 5:07 AM in response to redlev

Perhaps you already removed the folder, and posted an earlier Etrecheck?

You may want to run the check again and see, if this line still appears:

Dropbox Application (/Applications/Dropbox.app)
