ATV 4, slideshow problems

ATV 4, when set to pictures slideshow or screensaver it keeps playing the same 10-20 pics over and over? My activity folder has over 1000 pics yet I keep seeing the same ones over and over. I have set random and do not duplicate. this happens both with slideshow and screensaver. I have tried different folders that I have pics in and photo stream but it only goes about 20 deep. Very annoying as my ATV3 worked great for this. Would be nice if you could download the pics to memory and then random play them. Our main use of ATV is to play music and have a slideshow going!

I have updated to the latest version this morning and still has problems. (9.0.1)

does anyone know if the slideshow via ATV 4 is working now??! Just decided to double check it works, for the first time, as was planning Xmas slideshow for relatives coming tommorrow. I"m still experiencing the same problems, repeated photos and slideshow stalling and bombing out!!

I can get a slideshow to work via the smugmug app for ATV4 but that one doesn't allow shuffle option for the slideshow which I wanted. Help, spent many days and hours getting the photos ready for this apple photosharing slideshow via ATV4. Didn't expect it not to work!!

IT had been working for me, but the December 12 2016 update (tvOS 10.1) broke it again for me.

Try switching repeat on sounds strange but I found if I switched repeat off the slideshow lasts about 30 seconds
