Windows 7 Bootcamp nvidia install error
I recently had my hard drive replaced at an authorized service centre after the original one failed. When my computer was returned to me it had been updated from 10.8 to 10.10. I had to have 10.8 reinstalled as it is the only version I can use due to 3rd party software compatibility. I have always been able to install Windows 7 via bootcamp with out any issues but after this recent repair I am having issues.
While following the bootcamp install instructions, you are suppose to download the Bootcamp 5.1.5621 drivers from the website. Once the file has extracted, you then copy the 3 file onto a flash drive to install on the windows side. I have done this process on this same computer several times in the past with no issue. Since the recent repair, when I try to install Bootcamp 5.1.5621 on windows it fails to install the nvidia drivers. I then attempt to install only the nvidia drivers from the driver folder and it gives me an install error.
After several days of trial and error I have found that the only way these will install now is to copy to zipped file onto a flash drive, copy it onto the desktop on the windows side and extract the files there. I have tried this install several different ways and have found that if the zip file is extracted by OS X, the install will always fail but if the zip is extracted by windows, it always installs.
Any ideas why this has only started happening after a recent hard drive repair?
Thanks in advance.
