Samsung 950 Pro in 2009-2012 Mac Pro (Anyone try?)

I know there are quite a few very knowledgeable Mac Pro tower users (2009-2012) Side note: My machine...is it the cMP for classic Mac Pro or does the c stand for cylinder?)

In any event, I have an Apricorn Velocity Solo X2 paired with a Samsung 850pro and it is plenty fast, but I think I am up against the SATA maximum speed limit and I am looking for a bit more boost. Has anyone purchased a m.2 adapter PCIe card and tried the new Samsung 950 pro card with it yet?

I am wondering what real-world benchmarks people are getting and I am also wondering if it boots/sleeps OS X fine and has any support for boot camp and/or the OS X recovery partition. I'm using El Capitan I do not plan to RAID it at this time. Does OS X see this drive and offer trim support?

Also, what the heck does NVMe mean and does it have implications on the mac? I know that the card supports PCIe v3 and the macs only have v2, but Am I correct in assuming (I know...) that it is backwards compatible? Hopefully with not too much loss in terms of speed. Is there the same danger of bricking this drive with secure erase that was seen on the SM851?

Can you recommend a quality PCIe to M.2 adapter for use in my 2010 mac pro?

looked in these discussions and on Barefeats but couldn't find any results. Thanks for your help!
