Any way to set up port triggering on Airport Extreme?

No.. apple do not support anything that sophisticated.


Just forward the ports permanently.. you don't need to do port triggering normally as long as the ports are kept open all the time.


Alternatively put the device that is needing port openings in Default Host of the network. This is in Network Options. You should fix the IP of the client by DHCP reservation on the main network tab.. and then put that IP into default host.. effectively you are opening all ports to it.. so be careful.. and remember you still have a local firewall if you run into trouble.

The problem is, once a port is allocated you cannot use it again.. NAT is problematic.. and that is why UPNP was developed to remove the problem by enabling a negotiation of ports..


You will never get it working on an apple router..


Simply use your apple router as a WAP and buy another brand that supports standard UPNP.. apple decided not to support upnp in their routers.
