Install 2.5 inch SSD to replace 3.5 inch hard drive in iMac
I am looking to install a 2.5inch SSD (Crucial MX) to replace the 3.5 inch hard drive in a 27 inch Late 2009 iMac (2.66 GHz Intel Quad Core i5 - Model 11,1). I have two issues.
1. The hard drive has three cable connections (thermal sensor, SATA power and SATA data) but the SSD only has connections for the SATA power and SATA data (i.e. no thermal sensor connection). What should be done with the thermal sensor connector?
2. Also there looks to be a need for a 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch converter tray/bracket but I have not seen one advertised that fits an iMac (those on offer seem to be for PC trays). Does anyone know of a supplier?
